At the 1989 Geneva Motor Show Mercedes-Benz presented the SL from the R 129 model series.
The Alfa Romeo SZ made it's first public appearance at the March 1989 Geneva Salon de l'Automobile. There it was named 'ES30', an abbreviation of Experimental Sportscar 30, the number 30 relating to the engine capacity of 3 liters.
