About the Event
Between 1981 and 1982, the GMS opened and launched the new Exhibition and Congress Centre (Palexpo) to accommodate the record of 745,919 visitors.
At the 1981 Geneva Motor Show, the Jalpa debuted as the final vehicle in the entry-level V8 sports car series that began with the Urraco in 1970.
Expectant visitors to the Geneva Motor Show in 1981 would have been greeted by the Maserati Merak SS ‘Tipo 80’ on the glamorous Maserati stand.
