About the Event

At the 1989 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the prestigious Best of Show award was won by a 1922 Hispano-Suiza H6B Labourdette Skiff, owned and exhibited by Robert L. Meyer of King City, California. The 1989 event also marked the very first gathering of all three visionary Alfa Romeo BAT (Berlinetta Aerodinamica Tecnica) concepts (BAT 5, 7, and 9) united together at Pebble Beach. The year 1989 introduced the foundation of the event's famous concept car displays on the lawn.
