About the Event
For nearly 40 years, the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este remained nothing more than a memory. After the last original edition in 1949, featuring the first post-war automobiles, the event faded into history until Italian historian and author Tito Anselmi took on the challenge of reviving it. His first attempt came in 1986, but rather than showcasing new automotive creations, it focused solely on historic classics. The event didn’t continue, and another nine years passed before the next Concorso took place in 1995.
