Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 1933

Cernobbio, Lombardy, Italy
About the Event
The 1933 Concorso di Villa d’Este took an unexpected turn when a split its reasons lost to history led the Villa d’Este company to withdraw from organising the event. Stepping in to take full control, the Automobile Club of Como secured the patronage of Princess Maria José, renaming the competition the 'Coppa d’Oro Principessa di Piemonte.' With this change, the event moved entirely to Villa Olmo, including the prize-giving ceremony, though the much-loved public referendum was discontinued.
