Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 1937

Cernobbio, Lombardy, Italy
About the Event
When the Concorso returned on 12 September, 1937, under the auspices of the Automobile Club of Como, entries surged back past the hundred mark. However, that year lacked true showstoppers; the top prize for custom-built cars went to a Pininfarina Convertible on a Lancia Aprilia chassis, a model that seemed more fleeting than groundbreaking. As in 1935, multiple examples of some series-produced cars were entered, differentiated only by their paintwork perhaps a sign of shifting trends in the automotive world.
