About the Event
The 2024 edition of the world renowned Goodwood Revival, the 26th edition, will be the 'first historic motorsport event ever to take place using only sustainable fuels'. As has become custom the track opening parade will open the action on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning. Prior to a track parade of Meyers Manx to open the action on the track there will be an air display containing the Spitfire, P51 Mustang and P47 Thunderbolt.
There will be 15 races across the weekend. Some important races to highlight include the opening race, which is usually the final race, the Sussex Trophy, where cars such as the Jaguar D-Type, Ferrari 250 TR, Cegga-Ferrari 250 TR, Lotus-Climax 15 and various Lister's will participate. The Sussex trophy, which is labelled as World Championship Sportscars from 1955-1960, takes place over one hour and is a two driver race.
The Goodwood Trophy, designed for Grand Prix and Voiturette cars from the 1930s, 40s and 50s, where cars like the Maserati 4CM, 6CM, 8CM, Alfa Romeo 308C and Talbot-Lago T26C will go head to head.
The Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy, originally named the Kinrara Trophy when it was introduced for the first time back in 2016, celebrates Pre-1963 GT cars. This race will showcase the likes of Ferrari 250s, E-Types, Cobras, DB4 GTs and more. The Whitsun trophy showcases Sports-racing Prototypes from between 1960- 66 and is generally the fastest and 'most powerful' race of the weekend. The Ford GT40, McLaren-Chevrolet M1B and Lola-Chevrolet T70 Spyder provide the action in this race.
The most important race of the weekend and historically, is the RAC (Royal Automobile Club) TT Celebration for Closed-cockpit GT and prototype cars from 1960-1964. Cobras, a Bizzarrini 5300GT, Porsche 904, 906, E-Types and more make up the field for this race. The Freddie March Memorial Trophy closes the action at 18:00 on the Sunday.
Friday will also feature a tribute to John Surtees, 60 years after his Formula 1 world championship triumph.
Saturday will again feature a tribute to John Surtees, as well as the Jaguar XK parade, where 7 C-Types, 8 D-Types, 20 E-Types and more will parade around the track.
Sunday will also have the Jaguar XK parade on track and a commemoration of the 80th anniversary of D-Day with a parade of historic military vehicles.
