About the Event

The 2016 Adelaide Motorsport Festival, held from November 19 to 20, celebrated the city's rich motorsport heritage by bringing together a diverse array of historic and modern vehicles. The event featured the Victoria Park Sprints, where classic Formula 1 cars, including those driven by Stefan Johansson, Ivan Capelli, and Pierluigi Martini during the 1985 1995 Australian Grand Prix era, took to the track, thrilling spectators with their speed and sound. 

In addition to the sprints, the festival hosted the Classic Adelaide Rally, a closed-road rally through the picturesque Adelaide Hills, attracting both local and international participants. The combination of on-track action and scenic rally stages offered a comprehensive motorsport experience, reminiscent of the city's Grand Prix days.
