Information
Used by James Thompson in the 1995 British Touring Car Championship, although he would switch to the team's spare car (028) for the Donington Park round.
Following a heavy accident in testing at Knockhill which saw the spare car destroyed, Thompson forced to sit out the remainder of the year. Jeff Allam was called in as a last minute replacement for the Knockhill round with Michael Briggs taking over for the remainder of the season.
At the end of the season it was purchased along with the sister car (022) by Jim Richards and shipped to Australia. Both cars were later acquired by Bob Tweedie before being purchased in 2000 by Mike Newton and returned to the UK.
Following a lengthy rebuild the car returned to competition at the 2008 Goodwood Festival of Speed in the hands of John Cleland. The car ran in Cleland's 1995 BTCC livery as the actual championship winning car (chassis 022) was still being rebuilt. Sadly the practice run ended early when Cleland under-steered off the road, badly damaging the front of the car.
The next outing would not be until the Fujifilm Touring Car Trophy race at the Silverstone Classic in 2012 when it was driven by Mike Newton.
