Information
This Porsche 911 S-R was delivered new to Switzerland by the Porsche KG racing department. Designed for racing, it represents one of the rarest and most specialized variants of the 911.
In 1972, it joined Fredy Lienhard's Lista Racing Team in Zurich. That same year, it was loaned to Heinz Grieder, who notably used it in the 1973 Rangiers HCR race in Trimbach.
Over the following years, the car passed through several private owners in French-speaking Switzerland, between Lausanne and Aarau. These hands attest to its continuous use in competition and the interest it generated among enthusiasts.
In 2010, the 911 S-R underwent a complete restoration by Raceline Feustel in Neunkirch. Its engine was then rebuilt by specialist Manfred Rugen in Hepstedt, ensuring mechanical fidelity to the original specifications. In 2013, it was featured in Speedster Magazine in Paris, a testament to its historical significance and rarity.
Since 2015, the car has once again been owned by Fredy Lienhard, its original owner. It is kept in Romanshorn and, since 2018, has been on display at the autobau erlebniswelt museum, where it illustrates the evolution of the 911 racing car and its role in the history of Swiss motorsport.
