Information
Delivered new on March 29, 1972, to Wilhelm Willi Bartels, this Porsche 911 2.5 ST was designed by Porsche for the Group 4 category, as an evolution of the 911 S before the introduction of the 2.8 RSR.
After Bartels, the chassis was sold in August 1973 to the Porsche garage Tebernum (Josef Weisskopf & Heinz-Jörgen Dahmen), before joining the ownership of Klaus Uwe Brem in 1980.
In 1989, it entered the collection of Mario Linke (Methusalem), who carried out a complete restoration that was completed in 2001.
Since then, chassis 911 230 0987 has participated in several prestigious events, including the 911motorsport trackday in Abbeville, the Porsche Days Spa-Francorchamps (2013), the Zoute Concours d'Élégance (2013), and the Le Mans Classic (2018).
Since 2017, this 911 2.5 ST has resided at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, where it is exhibited in its restored condition.
Although it now sports a livery inspired by the 1973 24 Hours of Daytona, it never participated in that race, and its current livery does not correspond to its original historical identity. It nevertheless remains an iconic testament to private 911 STs, symbolizing the link between independent enthusiasts and the Stuttgart brand.
Modifications
This car now has the livery of a car inspired by a 911 that participated in the 1973 24 Hours of Daytona, however, this is not its period livery because this chassis never participated in the 24 Hours of Daytona. Its current livery does not correspond to its historical configuration.
