Information
Delivered new in 1972 by Porsche KG's racing department, this Porsche 911 S-R was entered in races by Porsche Nordrhein Düsseldorf. In its first season, it participated in numerous international endurance and sprint events, including the 1000 km of Spa and the Nürburgring, as well as several rounds of the DRM and EGTC championships.
Driven by leading figures of the German scene such as Dieter Fröhlich, Hans Heyer, Jürgen Neuhaus, and Jürgen Barth, it competed extensively throughout the 1972 season. In 1973 and 1974, under the guidance of Gerhard Holup, it continued its racing career, achieving several podium finishes at Zolder and maintaining a consistent performance that allowed it to remain competitive on the European stage. In 1975, it made its final appearance in the DRM series, driven by Lutz Hömssen.
After a long period away from the track, it underwent a complete restoration in 2015 by Karrosserie Stimming. This meticulous restoration restored its original splendor, and the car was presented at the Rétromobile show in 2020. It has remained in Germany ever since.
