Information
Delivered new on April 19, 1972, to the Porsche KG competition department, this 911 S-R was immediately registered by Mahag Porsche München, an official Porsche dealership.
Despite this initial provenance, its first owner remains unknown, as does its precise racing history. The archives do not confirm a racing career, but accounts suggest it may have passed through the hands of Alois Weinzierl and then Walter Röhrl. However, these hypotheses remain without solid documentary evidence.
A tangible element of its identity resurfaced much later: in June 2012, its original engine block (6622037) appeared on the German market, offered for sale. This rediscovery remains the only known physical record of its history after its delivery in 1972.
Thus, the 911 S-R chassis 9112301328 remains an enigma in the corpus of Porsche competition cars: delivered to the racing department, but with no documented racing history, it illustrates the gaps in the documentation of special models from Stuttgart in the early 1970s.
