Information
This 911 S-R was delivered new on March 9, 1972, by Porsche's motorsport division, Porsche KG. Immediately upon leaving the factory, it was entrusted to Rolf Fischer, who became its first owner and principal driver during the 1972 and 1973 seasons. Entered in numerous hill climbs and a few circuit races, the car began its racing career at Zotzenbach on March 26, 1972, before participating in the classic 300 km of the Nürburgring on April 3, where it did not start. It then competed in a series of hill climbs at Dünsberg, Turckheim Trois-Épis, Salzburgring (disqualified), Freiburg-Schauinsland (15th place), Schwäbische Alb-Neuffen, Eichenbühl (victory), and Schloßberg (also a victory). In 1973, it was entered again at Osnabrück (no. 197), still driven by Rolf Fischer.
Originally painted in Vipergrün (Viper Green), this 911 competition car saw considerable activity on the German and Austrian hillclimb racing scene. However, to date, chassis number 9112300983 has not been located. There is no known record of its restoration or reappearance in the historic vehicle community. It is therefore possible that the car was destroyed or dismantled, and the chances of seeing it restored in the short term seem slim.
