According to the owner, this car was never raced, apart from 2 known racing C3Bs. And according to C3s' chassis numbers, chassis 01, 02, 03 (rebuilt 01) and 05 all had raced, this could be chassis 04. Also the raced chassis skipped 04 from 03 to 05.
Previous owner used a Cosworth engine, but the current owner is a Subaru collector, so he purchased a Subaru flat 12 cylinder engine used on racing boats, similar to the ones used on C3B in 1990. The car is also fitted with original 1990 C3B panels and matching gearbox, to make it in fully 1990 spec. But amusingly the owner is reluctant to fire the engine up, as he is afraid of blowing up the rare Subaru engine.
