At the beginning of 1990 season, Coloni was purchased by Subaru and used upgraded C3B with Subaru F12 engine. But it was so terrible that Coloni parted with Subaru after French GP. At Hockenheim, they took this chassis 01 and upgraded to C3C with Ford-Cosworth again. But the chassis was destroyed at Hockenheim, later the team rebuilt and rebadged it as chassis 03. The C3C was faster than Subaru C3B, yet still fail to start a single race, but at least it could regularly enter qualifying, which was a big progress as C3B failed to pre-qualify all the time.
