Information
First prototype of the Alfa Romeo Scarabeo conceived by Officine Stampaggi Industriali, Giuseppe Busso, Orazio Satta Puliga and Sergio Sartorelli after the Alfa 33 racing programme was passed on to Autodelta. The Scarabeo was supposed to be a light sports car in the same light that the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale would be, but powered by a transversally-mounted inline-4 from the Giulia GTA. This first concept was right-hand-drive and rear-engined and characterized by how far back the cabin sits.
The car made its way in the US where it was damaged during an engine change and it has been supposedly sent to The Netherlands to be restored but it's not known when and what's its current state.
