In 1969, two chassis frames of the P 240 from 1956 were fitted with newly designed car bodies by the prototyping department of VEB Sachsenring. Reason for this was an order of the NVA (National people's army) to deliver two special vehicles for military parades. The car bodies were made of polyester resin and were very plain and simple in design. The radio installation for the address of the commander was powered by an independent electric circuit with batteries in the boot.
