About the Event

From February 19 to 22, 2026, RETRO CLASSICS will open its doors in Stuttgart for the 25th time celebrating its silver anniversary with an extraordinary blend of history, passion, and automotive culture. To mark this anniversary, the automotive culture trade fair will present a variety of high-caliber special shows honoring several automotive icons.

A special highlight is the 50th anniversary of the Mercedes-Benz W123 series. Few models had such a strong influence on the streetscape of the late 1970s and early 1980s as this classic with the star emblem. Whether as a sedan, coupe, station wagon, or taxi, the W123 is still considered the epitome of German engineering, durability, and elegance. The special exhibition features rare original vehicles, special equipment variants, and lovingly restored everyday heroes. It tells the story of a successful model that became a symbol of reliability worldwide.

The anniversary exhibition celebrating 50 years of the BMW 6 Series E24 is no less elegant. Introduced in 1976, the grand tourer combined luxury, sportiness, and style in a unique way. With its characteristic shark nose and powerful inline six-cylinder engines, the E24 became an icon of Bavarian driving culture. Visitors can look forward to exclusive exhibits and fascinating insights into the history of this design classic.

Opel is also in the spotlight twice over: 40 years of the Opel Omega A and 60 years of the Opel Rekord C are being celebrated in style. The Omega A Car of the Year in 1987 set new standards in the upper mid-range class with its aerodynamic lines, modern technology, and high everyday practicality. The Rekord C, on the other hand, is considered a stylish icon of the economic miracle years: with its striking Coke bottle line and versatility, it became a symbol of the automotive revolution of the 1960s.

In addition to the anniversary shows, RETRO CLASSICS 2026 once again offers a varied supporting program: RETRO NIGHT on the opening evening promises stylish entertainment and encounters among like-minded people. On Saturday, February 21, the Classicbid live auction at 3 p.m. will attract visitors with exclusive vehicles. A large vehicle sales exchange invites visitors to browse, marvel, and bargain.

The entry-level market also offers special classics for up to €10,000 there is something for everyone here, regardless of price range. The offering is complemented by the international parts market, the Automania world of model cars, and many other attractions. RETRO CLASSICS 2026 is more than just a trade fair it is an emotional look back at 125 years of automotive history and a meeting place for enthusiasts, collectors, and curious visitors. An anniversary not to be missed.
