Information
On March 5th 1977, the South African Grand Prix was held. On Lap 22 Renzo Zorzi needed to retire due a failure with his fuel metering unit. Two Marshalls ran to help, as the car burnt up in flames, one of them was called Frederik 'Frikkie' Jansen van Vuuren, who carried a 40-pound fire extinguisher, Pryce was behind Stuck. Stuck saw Jansen and avoided him, but Pryce didn't had time so he hit him, he was cut in half passing away inmediatly. The fire extinguisher hit Pryce's helmet, which also killed him. The car staid on main straight at full throttle, hitting Lafitte's car and the wall. The Shadow DN8 was rebuilt years after.
