Information
During Q3 of 2011 Monaco Grand Prix, Sergio Pérez lost control after exiting the tunnel. The car hit the barrier heavily, its right side was completely destroyed. Perez had a sprained thigh and concussion, and missed the race. He meant to participate the next race at Canada, but he felt unwell after the first practice, and he was replaced by Pedro de la Rosa in the following sessions. Pérez returned at Valencia.
Despite the heavy damage, this chassis miraculously survived. After 8 races, it returned to the circuit, was raced again by Pérez in the last several races of the season.
