Information
After being presented to the evaluation committee for the homologation of the 917, chassis 012 was dismantled for further reconstruction. The car had very little besides a body mounted on its chassis.
The chassis was later reused when 917-021 was damaged at Le Mans 24H 1970, the '917-021' plate was welded to 012 chassis. It was acquired then by Manfred Fresinger in 1972, and Joachim Grossman bought it in 1976, who registered it in Germany.
