Used to rebuild chassis 917-043 in 1971
Originally painted in Gulf Livery, later changed to Psychodelic "Hippie" Livery.043(044) is a mixture of 043’s original VIN plate and a new chassis 044 after 043 crashed sometime after Lemans of 1970 at Hockenheim. 043’s VIN plate was transferred onto 044’s chassis and built to LH 71 spec which ran under J.W.A Gulf team in Lemans of 1971. Vasek Polak then bought the car and then was sold to Symbolic Motors in 1995 and was restored to its 1970 specifications and then sold to the Simeone Museum where it now residesCar was restored back to its 1971 specification after restoration under Vasek Polak
