Rebuilt using parts of chassis 917-040
'Psychedelic' livery
Chassis 043 is the main chassis and body of what was separated after 043’s crash at Hockenheim.
Raced for the first time at Le Mans (1970 #3) with a1970 LH body and Psychedelic livery, later modified by the Porsche factory with a 1971 LH body for the 1971 season and raced a second time at Le Mans (1971 #18)
Backdated to 1970 LH body (original 1970 Le Mans body) in 1972, before being sold to Vasek Polak.
Sold to the Pedrazzi family in 1977 and made a public appearance again at Rétromobile 2020.
Sold to a Monegasque owner in 2020/2023 with its original '043' chassis plate in a postal envelope.
Research conducted between 2020 and 2025 revealed the true identity and provenance of the 1970 Le Mans Hippie chassis, tracing it back to Porsche engineer Norbert Singer and factory documents that clearly mention its use in the 1970 and 1971 24 Hours of Le Mans editions.
