Tipo 26M 'Appleton Special'
Originally owned by Umberto Klinger, the car was bought by John Appleton in 1932, who shortened the chassis, fitted a Riley Nine engine and later rebodied it as a single seater. These modifications led to it becoming known as the 'Appleton Special'. It stayed in this form until the late 1990s, when the current owner restored the car to a close enough example of the Tipo's original specification
