Information
Originally campaigned from new by Prince Bira of Siam, largely in the UK.
Due to illness, Bira was unable to compete long term in the car, and had lent the car to Owen Organisation British Racing Motors (BRM) team.
During competition the car was involved in an accident at the hands of a junior driver.
Bira was furious over said accident and demanded BRM repair the car, where it is believed the chassis was swapped with another 250F.
Briefly owned by Australian motorsport legend, Jack Brabham, before moving on to racing with a Cooper due to his disapproval of the 250F post an unsuccessful season.
Following this the car spent a majority of the remainder of its life in New Zealand competition, before landing in the hands of Sir Leonard Southward, holding possession till his passing.
The car now resides in the Southward Trust’s Motor Museum, 1 hour from New Zealand’s capitol, Wellington.
Rebuilt by Bruce Wilson of Hungerville for the 1962 season, where it was repainted Red.
Since, has been repainted Verde.
