Information
250F Tipo 2 V12 'Fuoricentro' special
Used an engine slightly offset to the left that allowed for a lower seating position.
One of three cars fitted with a V12 engine, however this chassis was the only one that actually went racing with the V12 in its time
Maserati sold it after the 1957 season ended to Brazilian Antonio Mendes de Barros, although they only sold the chassis and body and kept the V12 engine.
During its time in Brazil, the car was equipped with a Chevrolet V8.
In the 1980s, this 250F was completely restored by Stephen Griswold and was fitted with a 3.5l V12 sourced from one of Briggs Cunningham's Birdcage cars
