During 1993 Belgian GP practice, Alex Zanardi had a suspension failure at Raidillon, lost control and hit the barrier at 270 km/h. The car was heavily damaged and burst into flames for a moment. Zanardi suffered from concussion but avoided serious injury, this accident ended his season 4 races in advance. Later the chassis was repaired and raced again.
