2005 Ford Sport Trac Adrenalin Concept
Daring to go against the trend of 'bigger is better' for sport trucks, Ford's Special Vehicle Team (SVT) developed the Sport Trac Adrenalin Concept with the idea of crafting a 4-passenger vehicle with four doors and a 4-foot bed into a mid-sized SUV. The Sport Trac Adrenalin Concept was to be powered by the same 4.6-liter SOHC V8 engine found in the 2004 SVT Mustang Cobra, which was mated to the same 6-speed automatic transmission first used in the Lincoln Navigator, and it was said to be ideally suited for both stop-light drag races and hauling a trailer with up to 6,000 pounds. This Sport Trac Adrenalin Concept debuted at the 2005 New York Auto Show and was retained by Ford before it was sold in 2010.
