Bought new by Corvette mastermind - Zora Arkus-Duntoff to study as they developed a mid-engined Corvette that never made it to production.
Following the testing in 1967 the car was intended to be scrapped by GM but it was bought by Jim Kinsler of Kinsler Fuel for just $8715 USD (still owned by him).
