Information
First 250 GTO produced, presented 24 February 1962
2053GT & 3175GT used as 250 GTO prototypes/test mules
Normally even chassis numbers were reserved for racing models to separate them from road models, however to get around the rulebook Enzo Ferrari convinced the FIA that the 250GTO was an evolution of the 250GT(hence the added O in the title meaning Omologato or homologation from the road going 250GT)
This chassis was built in late 1961 and used by the Scuderia factory until being sold to NART in 1962. Originally it had no front brake cooling holes, twin front wing vents, fuel filler on the near side wing and indicator lights below the headlights. Delivered with no spoiler but after its first appearance in December of 1961 it was fixed with a wing by rivets. Has been repainted many many times to lots of colors and livery sets.
