Information
Built for Humphrey Cook, one of ERA's financial backers. It started life as a 1.1-litre car to qualify for the smaller displacement races, but soon after it was equipped with a more powerful 1.5 litre engine. After a brief spell as a works racer, R2A was sold off to Greek privateer Nicky Embiricos. He had ex-Maserati employee Giulio Ramponi fit a modern Tecnauto independent front suspension. Sadly , he crashed the car on its first outing and decided to end his career as an active driver. It was further modified and used into the 1950s, but with little success.
