Information
First used by the Delage works team, failing to finish the 1923 French Grand Prix with engine issues.
Sold as a rolling chassis to French aviator and racing driver Maurice Béquet, who fitted it with a Hispano-Suiza 8A aero engine and raced it.
Hidden during World War II and discovered by Jean Salis, who wanted to use the engine for the restoration of a SPAD aircraft, only to find that the original propeller boss had been cut off to fit a flywheel!
Discovered by Swiss Bugatti collector Hans Matti and sold to Nigel Arnold-Forster in the UK, in exchange for him restoring Matti's Type 35B.
