The Bugatti EB110 Supersport called 'proto 012' is not a simple Supersport prototype. In fact, the car is probably already listed in this registry, but there have been so many modifications, starting with its chassis number, that it is currently impossible to be certain of the original car. It's probably one of the EB110 Supersport prototypes, perhaps the S5 prototype, unlikely the S8 prototype. In any case, the car was renumbered with a chassis number used on the GT012 prototype, generated during Swiss approval procedure. It doesn't make a lot of sense, but it shows just how much was possible about homologation at the time.
