Information
The SS will become the EB110 Sport Competizione (SC), the 2nd official EB110 for racing. The car will be developed and built in-house by Bugatti, based on the experience gained during the development of the 1994 Le Mans 24-hour racing car. The EB110 SC was completed in May 1995 and competed at Watkins Glen in June, Sears Point in July, and the Suzuka 1000 km in August. Back to the factory for a gearbox change, the EB110 SC was sequestered in Campogalliano due to the administrative closing of the Bugatti factory, closing abruptly the 1995 season. In 1996, the car was entered in the 24 hours of Daytona and then in the 24 hours of Le Mans, where the car was seriously damaged during the pre-qualification. A chassis change was made and the car participated in its last race, the 2H of Dijon in June 1996.
In 1996, Gildo Pallanca Pastor, via the Monaco Racing Team (MRT), contacted the 'Bugatti Fallimento' company, the entity managing the assets of Bugatti Automobili, to purchase a carbon chassis to replace the Bugatti EB110 Sport Competizione chassis, which was damaged during the preliminary tests of the 1996 Le Mans 24 hours. The SS32 chassis was recovered by MRT and the SC was rebuilt on it. A manufacturer's plate with the SC number (SS44) was affixed after completion.
