Originally served as a spare car. Ten days before 1991 San Marino GP, which was the new FA12's planned debut, Michele Alboreto was testing the car he meant to drive in the race, the car lost control at Temburello, hit the wall at a high speed and burst into flame, very similar to Senna's fatal accident 3 years later at the same corner. Luckily Alboreto escaped from the car, but with 15 stitches on his rib. The FA12 was written off, so Alboreto drove the spare car A11 C during the Grand Prix.
