Information
The only 8C Competizione painted in Blu Notturno, a paint color from Maserati. The story goes that during the time this car was purchased, rumors were spreading about FCA possibly acquiring Opel. Sergio Marchionne (FCA's CEO at the time) suggested to a friend that they should buy an 8C. Said friend made a bet that if Sergio managed to take over Opel, Sergio could choose the color of the 8C for his friend, but if he failed to buy Opel, the friend would be able to pick any color from the whole FCA group, not just from Alfa Romeo. FCA did not take over Opel, so the buyer was free to choose from the entire FCA catalog. He picked Blu Notturno, and Sergio arranged this deal.
