After Wayne Taylor Racing decided to switch to Cadillac for 2025 season, Meyer Shank Racing returned to the championship once again with Acura. However, Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) wanted to avoid another scandal like the one they had at Daytona 2023, so into the agreement with MSR, HRC took control on one of the car's operations. So while MSR keep using Honda, the Japanese can have more control into the operation.
