Information

Competed across the whole 2023 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar season.
3-time race winner: 2023 24 Hours of Daytona, 2023 Chevrolet Grand Prix and 2023 Petit Le Mans.
The first-ever modern GTP era / LMDh winner.
The 2023 24 Hours of Daytona (January 28th-29th) marked the competitive debut of the new LMDh prototypes at GTP class. This chaotic race was won by #60 Acura of Meyer Shank Racing, making a back-to-back for MSR and 3 in a row for Acura. However, the result was tinted with controversy. 6 weeks later the race was disputed, IMSA ruled out that Meyer Shank Racing had deliberately manipulated the tyre pressure data. This was discovered by Honda Performance Development and reported to the organization.Allegedly, this manipulation was done over the night time, but took weeks to be confirmed. The team made intentional software offsets within the pressure shown at the monitor. Even though the team was allowed to keep the victory, and the drivers were allowed to keep the prizes, the team received severe sanctions such as a 200 points deduction (out of 350 earned, which ended up being crucial for championship), losing all IMEC points, losing the money prize and a $50,000 fine penalty. Team co-owner Mike Shank placed on probation, meanwhile, Ryan McCarthy, the engineer behind this, was fired by the team and put under undefined suspension. Due to this scandal, MSR left the championship at the end of 2023 season, where they ended up losing the title due this points deduction. This became the biggest cheating scandal in the history of the championship.
This chassis was later given to Wayne Taylor Racing for the 2024 campaign.
