The Plymouth Barracuda 440 'Rapid Transit System', better known as the RTS 'Cuda, was built for the Rapid Transit System Caravan that toured the US in 1970 and 1971. Only four examples were produced, with the latest sale hitting a staggering $2.2 million in 2023. Interestingly, the RTS 'Cuda isn't a fully factory-built car. The RTS 'Cuda was designed by Harry Bradley, known for his designs for Mattel's Hot Wheels toy line in the 1960s. Bradley was commissioned for the project by Plymouth due to the company's desire for something truly unique. The design was inspired by the Barracuda Sonic, a drag-spec car with a large rear wing and blower. While not as aggressive as the Sonic 'Cuda, the Rapid Transit System 'Cudas were eye-catching thanks to their bold liveries and in-your-face design.
