Horch 430 Limousine

Due to the significant drop in sales as a result of the global economic crisis, the company decided to start offering low-cost models too. In September 1931, the Horch 430 with its short chassis went into series production. The body resembled the appearance of the more powerful models, but the interior was more modest in the features it offered. Nevertheless, the car gave an impression of high quality. A smaller engine was intended to be a special draw for new purchasers.

It was reduced from a four-litre to a three litres-litre engine, and the power was reduced to 65 hp. However, the discerning clientèle was hesitant to embrace the concept. This more 'economical Horch' did not bring the hoped-for success. Only 205 cars were sold.

The Horch 8 of the August Horch Museum Zwickau is the only known Type 430.
