About this model
This Edo Competition 996 ‘GT2 R’ is a bespoke one-of-one Porsche 911, which boasts an extraordinary uprated specification.
At the core of the build is a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, which is fitted with a 996 GT2 engine, and further upgraded in every aspect including brakes, suspension, engine, transmission, aerodynamics, exhaust, interior, wheels and tyres.
It has been further enhanced to its current 997-style appearance, building on its earlier 996 body styling.
It is powered by an extensively modified 3.6-litre turbocharged ‘Mezger’ flat-six, which now sends 542hp to the rear wheels via a six-speed 996 GT3 Cup-specification manual transmission.
Its impressive power and low weight mean that the Edo Competition 997 GT2 R is capable of dispatching the 0-62mph sprint in just 3.8 seconds, will hit 200km/h (124mph) in 11 seconds, and will continue accelerating to a claimed top speed of 205mph.
