Unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show as a celebration of Bugatti’s 110th anniversary, La Voiture Noire ( The Black Car ) pays homage to Jean Bugatti’s Type 57SC Atlantic, more specifically, the infamous example that disappeared.
Based on the Chiron’s underpinnings, La Voiture Noire was further honed for a more relaxed driving experience. The styling, taking inspiration from the W16 GT ‘Rembrandt’ concept, featured an elongated nose and rear, unique mirrors and wheels, and a distinctive array of six exhaust pipes.
The display car was a static model, powered by electric motors, but a true production model followed years later. This car develops 1500 PS and 1600 Nm of torque, at a cost of over €11 million, before tax.
