About this model

An overpowering saloon: in the 1980s, AMG, a company specialising in high-performance vehicles, designed high-performance cars with V8 engines based on the Mercedes-Benz 124 model series that were capable of more than 300 km/h. Even the , Tagesschau news magazine on Germany’s ARD TV reported on the coupé version. From 1988, the 300 E 6.0 AMG with a 6-litre V8 engine and the accompanying coupé and estate versions were produced. The US trade press nicknamed these extraordinary vehicles The Hammer , which was enthusiastically taken up by the fans.
