Built new in black (and likely one of the original Zakspeed team cars), chassis 005 was sold to German racer Werner Haug in late 1978. Haug had found huge success in his Alpine A110 on circuits and hillclimbs, and the Escort was soon a winner for him too. Over the years, Haug ran the car in black, red and white/blue, and each layer was there as we sanded away.
