Information
Built for the 1997 British Touring Car Championship, where it was used by Rickard Rydell and Kelvin Burt, although it is not known which driver used the car for which races.
In 1998, the car was used by Jan Nilsson in the Swedish Touring Car Championship, plus the Zhuhai round of the South East Asia Touring Car Zone Challenge and the Macau Grand Prix
Loaned to Volvo China in 1999 and driven at the Macau Grand Prix and various Asian races by Henry Lee Jr
Following a rebuild by SportPromotion in 2000, it was used primarily as a test car for the 2001 Swedish Touring Car Championship, and raced at the Knutstorp round by Hakan Roos. During that race, the car crashed and received heavy damage. The car was dismantled and the running gear transferred to R7-002.
Despite in initial reports that the remains of the shell had been scrapped, in 2012 the still-damaged shell reappeared and was purchased by Björn Hall.
Hall would keep the car until early 2017, when it was purchased by Miguel Marini.
