Built in 1998 and used by Rickard Rydell to win the British Touring Car Championship, although he would also drive R8-004 for some races.
In 1999 the car was driven in the Swedish Touring Car Championship by Jens Edman
In 2000 the car was put on display in Volvo's Göteborg museum where it remains to this day
