It was commissioned new as ‘Boots the Chemists’ to serve as a competition prize in June 1978. The winner sold the car back to the manufacturer who duly adorned it with their famous ‘TVR 100’ registration plate, and pressed into service as a show/press car, as which it was regularly displayed throughout the country between March and November 1979.
