The only factory-produced Triumph Vitesse Coupe
In the mid-1960s, Triumph built a single Vitesse Coupé prototype — a sleek, one-off design styled by Giovanni Michelotti to explore a more upmarket, sporting version of the Vitesse. It kept the familiar twin-headlight front and six-cylinder engine but featured a lower roofline and elegant fastback body, unlike the saloon or convertible models sold to the public. The car never reached production; Triumph decided the costs outweighed the potential demand. Today, this unique coupé is believed to survive in the care of the Triumph Sports Six Club, standing as a rare glimpse of what Triumph might have built if they’d pursued a true Vitesse grand tourer.
