Information
During 2005 United States Grand Prix practice, Ralf Schumacher had a tyre failure and crashed heavily at the last corner. This was a main factor leading the tyre gate, that teams with Michelin tyres withdrew from the race because the tyres may fail at the high speed corner. Ralf was forced to miss qualifying and race, replaced by Riccardo Zonta, although Toyota didn't start the race.
